Give Back Story

Give Back Story

What’s going on my friends today we will discuss charities and why I find it important to give back? So I usually give to charities every year because giving makes me happy and so far this year I’ve given the most ever. I hope that the amounts donated have made an impact on those organizations and the people they support. That truly is what charity should be meant for, to make a difference in the lives of others. Keep reading below to find out why my give back story changed this year for the better.

On a random weekday morning I get an email for J. Money over at Budgets are sexy and he goes on to say that he is looking for a group of 20 bloggers who will help spread joy and cheer by donating 100 dollars to cause important to them. I immediately jumped on it because it is the season of giving and since it rings true with my beliefs. I come from a middle class family and my parents encouraged giving back to those less fortunate, because it was the right way to live.

So the task began to find 3 organizations that we can help with their cause this holiday season. After thinking it over for a few days, something clicked and I thought why not support 3 organizations that are present in my life right now and that I have never been a contributor before. The 3 organizations I picked were the Les Turner ALS Foundation, The make a wish organization, and last but not least the Havasole organization. The reason why these 3 entities were chosen is because each one has a special meaning in my life right now.

The 6 Steps to Freedom

The 6 steps to freedom
Freedom can be Bought

Hey do you desire freedom? Is it tugging at you as you slave away for 40 hours a week sitting at a cubicle? We should all be striving to reach freedom in any way possible. No job ever truly has your back, because they want you plugged in and locked down with golden hand cuffs for eternity. How long is a long time, 40 years is the average amount of time people end up working. Add up the school years and it balloons to 60 years. Now if those stats don’t motivate you to complete the 6 steps of freedom then I do not know what will.

Imagine a time where the alarm clock doesn’t go off and you can now enjoy 3 day weekends. The boss will be very jealous of you when you hand in your resignation letter because said boss wants freedom too.(Boss just doesn’t disclose the desire all to protect the company’s bottom line)

I have 3 weeks of vacation time and with 52 weeks in the year, it is not enough to allow me a 3 day weekend every week. So I must pursue freedom because of this fact and because I just don’t like people telling me what to do. I place a higher value on family and a more favorable life / work balance. Giving Money is Gratitude Multiplied by Happiness

Giving Money is Gratitude Multiplied by Happiness
Giving Money is Gratitude Multiplied by Happiness

Did you know that giving away money leaves you feeling great? It means that you can securely give without feeling a sense of fear or lacking in your money life. The one secret that many people don’t understand is that giving unselfishly only comes when you can build a financial foundation for yourself. Granted anyone can give at any moment in time or even if you’re not fully prepared to give, but it makes sense to give when you have your life in order. Having an emergency fund, consistently investing towards the future, not living paycheck to paycheck all of these things will allow you to give generously when the time is right. If you can support a good charity or organization it will leave you feeling a sense of contentment. The truth is giving money is gratitude multiplied by happiness in my opinion. It is how I feel when I give and how you should feel too.

Can you Define Happiness?

Can you Define Happiness
A Happy Family by the Lake

What are the best things that make us happy? A simple question that many can answer, if they can take a brief moment to think for a second about what are the magical things that make us happy. If you can think back to your younger days were you happier then or now? Can you define happiness? Not the past or the future but the present happiness that is engulfing your life. LOL.

I’ve noticed a big movement on the finding happiness bandwagon from blogs, documentaries, and now a movie is about to be released based on this subject. (Just saw the trailer last weekend) At the core of the topic many people ask the question, what makes you happy? Do they want to know answers as it will solve a mystery based on this discussion, because everybody seems miserable? Maybe they are looking for a rabbit in a fox hole? Happiness is not something you can whip up and serve on a platter. It is a realization as to how you view life in the current state, with no past regrets and a sense of making the best of every situational moment going forward. This is happiness defined in my opinion. Now let’s discuss this topic further below and talk a bit about my personal happiness activities. The next few phrases I will express what makes me happy.
