The Reason People Subconsciously Do Not Save Money

The reason people subconciously do not save money
Once we’re gone we cant enjoy anything, but that shouldn’t hinder your thought process about savings today.

Why do most people find it difficult to save a dollar? I think I found the answer and it will either speak a sense of truth in your life or you will dislike what I am about to say. This idea was created by speaking to certain people who constantly say you can’t take it with you to the grave. Do they really justify not saving because they think they will die soon? Also by watching the show the walking dead, where walkers roam aimlessly around the planet. The reason people subconsciously do not save money is because a part of all of us has that little feeling we might not be around to enjoy it. I can’t believe I actually said that and I will probably get some flak for it. We all have a live in the present, as happy as can be mindset because we might not be around to enjoy it.

The second reason some people do not save money, and I will save this topic for another post, is that the government will find a way to take our retirement savings. If the government takes our retirement savings, believe me we all will have greater issues than just money at that point. Can we say Anarchy at that point in time!!! We great citizens of the USA make on average about $100-150 dollars a day and we cannot find it in us to save $5 dollars per day. Why is that so? Do you ever question in full reality why Americans have a government reported savings rate of about 5% or less. If you do question the reason people subconsciously do not save money could it be because of thoughts based about death in your opinion? (Morbid yes- truthful Heck yes)

Can you Define Happiness?

Can you Define Happiness
A Happy Family by the Lake

What are the best things that make us happy? A simple question that many can answer, if they can take a brief moment to think for a second about what are the magical things that make us happy. If you can think back to your younger days were you happier then or now? Can you define happiness? Not the past or the future but the present happiness that is engulfing your life. LOL.

I’ve noticed a big movement on the finding happiness bandwagon from blogs, documentaries, and now a movie is about to be released based on this subject. (Just saw the trailer last weekend) At the core of the topic many people ask the question, what makes you happy? Do they want to know answers as it will solve a mystery based on this discussion, because everybody seems miserable? Maybe they are looking for a rabbit in a fox hole? Happiness is not something you can whip up and serve on a platter. It is a realization as to how you view life in the current state, with no past regrets and a sense of making the best of every situational moment going forward. This is happiness defined in my opinion. Now let’s discuss this topic further below and talk a bit about my personal happiness activities. The next few phrases I will express what makes me happy.

How to Practice Patience

How to practice Patience
Having Patience will help you Avoid Debt.

What’s going on today my friends? The topic today is patience, I feel if you practice patience you can successfully train the mind to do extraordinary things. For example you can become a better person by not letting impulses drive your actions. The number one detriment to people becoming wealthy today is a lack of patience. The Delayed gratification phrase is steadily being played out like a 90s hit song all over the personal finance world, but it is the sad truth many people are faced with because we all want things now.

In this society patience is running thin, and I see the harmful effects of this every day. From the careless drivers who cannot help themselves to look up away from their cell phones, to the guys running up enormous bar tabs to impress girls at a bar. It all boils down to having patience in life. I will share with all of you today how to practice patience and I hope you can see the benefits to why you would want to practice being more patient in life. Why you should not take Money for Granted

I see it all the time, people taking money for granted. No I’m not talking about a person walking by a penny and not picking it up. I am referring to the thousands of dollars every year being funneled out of bank accounts and into the hands of the already filthy rich companies. Banks everywhere are making out with your money. Credit Card companies are buying businesses with your interest payments. Auto Sales men are funding their pockets with every signature you sign on the dotted line. Higher Education is laughing to the banks because of the 1 trillion dollars in student loans debt.

What happen to thinking about good old numbero 1 from time to time? What happen to making You, Inc. more profitable and self-sustaining by stashing your cash? If you keep throwing money in the wrong direction, it will eventually make you feel like taking two steps back and no step forward.  I am ready for a challenge to take You, Inc. into the next level of success with money management. How do you ask with a blank stare are you going to do this? Well it is simple by not taking money for granted. By sending it express mail in the right direction, thus having the little green dollars work hard for you. It’s real easy send it to your online bank account and build it every month for emergencies. Once a real emergency occurs, then take out your free online money. By now the money you have been saving is making you free money by compounding.

The Company you Keep

Do all of you believe in the saying you are who you are based on the company you keep. If your family and friends define you as per this statement, then if they are not on your level does that mean you will not grow or maybe they will hold you back? What if the coin was on the other side, and you have a group of friends who want to give you the boot because you are not winning as per their standards. Maybe you have not had success in a few years and feel you are in a rut professionally, does that qualify you to be a loser? This thinking came to me as I was reading a post that made a hidden reference stating people will be more successful if they are around successful people.

OK the question of the day is when do you know if you should move on, and find more successful people or if you should stay loyal to your original circle and hopefully they will surprise you one day by getting that PHD degree. I am struggling with finding the appropriate reasoning behind leaving your good friends that you get along with but may not be at your level. Maybe I am different from others who are cut throat type of individuals, or maybe since watching the movie Rudy I was forever changed. (90% of the time I root for the underdog unless it is my favorite team)

The second question is what if you are the person being dumped or pushed aside, what would you do? Keep attempting to hang out and communicate with a person disinterested in you or move on as well. I can’t believe it but this happens all the time here at my place of work. Certain circles of people hang every day and then in a month or two one person is suddenly out casted, thus not seen every day with the same crowd and is now eating lunch Hans Solo. Damn people can be rude at times, but do they have reasoning or not?  Can that sort of behavior lead to promotions and success in the office? I really do not know, but I have heard the richer get richer. People who invest in businesses and real estate join forces with others with the same mentality or for that fact the same wallet size. Do you know how awkward it would be to ask your buddy that has 50 K debt and a 30K income to invest in a 3 family house with you? Hello the answer will be 95% of the time a flat-out, I can’t do it buddy.

In Conclusion will you, if you strive for more find a circle of successful friends or stick with the original circle of friends you had? Maybe you have the drive and determination to achieve success by yourself and not involve your friends or family. Do you think Wal-Mart, Microsoft, or Apple would be the successful companies they have become without help from those close to the founders? I would assume no is a possibility to the answer. Everyday millions of no name insiders make things happen for companies and thus continue in making the entity successful.  A great idea is the starting point, but without a successful motivated and energized team the idea would not get off the ground.

That great show you see with all the great actors who bring you joyous TV magic do not do it by themselves. There are at least 30 + show staffers who make it happen behind the scenes. What does this crap have to do with the post? If you strive for success and are one step closer to a major milestone, do you trust some new business acquaintance to help you do business dealings or would you be more willing to trust a friend you have known for years.
I think I would probably trust somebody whom I have known for years. My one trepidation would be that a relationship can turn sour when you intertwine money with family / friends.

Comment if you agree with the company you keep post above or if you do not? Have you ever dropped a friend because they were a complete mess and didn’t strive for success?

Spending is not the root of Happiness

spending money is not the root of happiness
Hey you if you spend more than you made today, it doesn’t make you any Happier.

I have come across a few people who like to live for the Now in life. They are always going out and doing everything in their power to be present at numerous events while negating their future security. I ask myself when I see this happening, what kind of void are those individuals trying to fill? Don’t get me wrong I enjoy a good party from time to time when it’s important to me, but all that spending those people are doing strikes me as a red flag. Twenty years later those people are going to be wondering and most likely regretting why didn’t I prepare for my future.
