Brands that I Love V

schwinn

Hey it’s that time again to talk about the brands that I love in the world. HA I crack myself up, but hey if you don’t take life litely than what’s the point. These brands represent in my opinion great brands we all must own or support. Let’s give props to these companies as they make some excellent products for all of us to enjoy. The range of products consists of clothing to bicycles to some great sounding home theater speakers. What can you say about the old man in the product bunch, Schwinn, as they have been in business for decades way before any of these other brands even existed.

Best Brands that I Love V:

  • ·         Buffalo Clothing
  • ·         Toastmaster’s
  • ·         Schwinn Bicycles (Est. 1895)
  • ·         Terra (Veggie Snacks)
  • ·         Bose Home Speakers
  • ·         Hamilton Watches (Great American Watch Co.)
  • ·         Google (GMAIL & Android)
  • ·         Woot! Website (Amazon Owned)

One thing I must admit to my readers is that Bose radios do not work well with CD’s or DVD’s that are reproduced copies. This is the only bad experience I have had with any of these products. Besides the one negative by Bose, the home speakers work flawlessly with superb sound quality. I hear things I never heard before when watching a movie that I had seen previously.

The Woot Website is a great website that has offers galore. The products they sell are always discounted by at least 20% or more when compared to retail prices. Recently they expanded to offer a variety of sister sites like Woot Sport or Woot Home. To add insult to injury and to further explain that the rich get richer, Amazon the world’s largest online retailer bought the Woot website and has expanded it to a monster.

Toastmaster’s is a great organization that can give you the confidence you need to develop communications skills. I have benefitted extremely from the support and knowledge of attending regular meetings at my current employer sponsored club.. If your company offers this service then please consider attending as you will grow as a leader.

Hamilton Watches is a another great brand. I would consider them to be low to mid range in price. But the quality and workmanship behind the brand is at a respectable level for my taste. If you feel the need to splurge once you are out of debt and have a minimum of $400 dollars to spend on a good timepiece then consider Hamilton. Well that sums it up for the brands that I love series for this quarter. Let me know what brands you want me to mention here and I will check them out and give them a shout out if they pass my rigorous brand review test.

Comment if you have had a good or bad experience with any of these brands that I love V?

I keep my eye on my finances like CVS, while also keeping my money in good hands like, All-State. In addition I take my money seriously like Johnson & Johnson is to safety. When you do this life’s good like LG because you are in control like Amazon is to online shopping. If you search all around like Google, then you will see how important it is to build a rock solid foundation like Prudential. If you keep it simple and easy like MoneyWatch101 you will have the power on your side like Allianz. Do not hesitate with your money, just do it like Nike, because then your money will slip away. We all should try harder like Avis to build savings year after year. Change up your money routine and think differently like Apple so that you can profit from it like CNN Money. If not you will be like AIG who thought they knew money, but in the end needed a hand out.  In conclusion, if you can hear me now like Verizon you will prosper with finances forever.

I wanted to keep it light this morning and give you a poem I came up with based on random brands while using their company Tag Line. I think I have used 90% of the brands mentioned above as they are readily available in my consumer market area. Some are global brands like Amazon and Apple, and this can relate to many countries as the brands tag line are the same. Have you used any of the brands mentioned above?

Comment if you love or hate the brand poem above, or if you can add to it.

Brands that I Love IV

Brands that I love IV

Hey friends it is that time again to share some good brand acknowledgement info for all of you. I do this so you can be a better consumer and shopper of the good brands and not the crummy ol’ nasty ones. Chime in any time you want and let us know if you like or dislike these brands and give reasons why. Some of these you have probably supported before and you probably have some cool memories with them as well. For example you’re first Mattel Race car or the first time you tasted a Chips Ahoy Cookie. (Good Memories I must admit)

Brands that I Love IV:

• Tissot Watches

• Lee Jeans (Not for everybody but durable)

• Nabisco

• Mazda (Fun to Drive)

• Mattel

• Archer Farms (Food)

• Vanguard

• Mr. Coffee (Budget based Small Appliances)

Folks this is my personal list of brands that I love. I support all of these companies, and will continue to talk positively about them for many years to come. For example my very first car was a Mazda and I have done a complete 360 and I once again own a Mazda car. This car better not let me down because I like the brand and I do not want things to change in the near future. So far it has been a pleasure to drive the car. Vanguard has been the best and easily the cheapest option to invest retirement funds into. They are always available on the phone if you have questions, they also provide a plethora of options for all your investing needs. If a fund has a .10 expense fee annually then that just means more returns in your pocket and less to pad the massive pockets of the CEO’s. If you were to leave a job and you had a 401K, if I were you I would immediately roll it over into a Vanguard IRA. It’s a no brainer in my book.

Archer Farms is a great all natural subsidiary brand from Target Inc. They have many regular staple items to fill your pantry from top to bottom. Some of the products are unique flavors that you would have never even thought of yourself to make. Try out the Archer Farms Blue chips with flax seeds at your next Party, excellent taste. Give them a shot the next time you’re in target and you will not be disappointed.  Mr. Coffee is a great brand because they provide budget priced coffee makers. These things can put money in your pocket; the average cup of coffee brewed in one of these will cost you maybe .20 cents. Now if you go to Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks every day then you will be paying 5X-7X that rate. It may take you a few times brewing it yourself to get the hang of how you like the flavor, plus you can add creamers to the mix to spice things up. Now that you have the premise of why I promote these brands, below you will see them again with the stock symbol if they are a public company. Invest at your own risk, ha ha.

Investing Details for the Brands:

Tissot Watches – Swatch Group Inc. (Swiss Stock -SIX)

Lee Jeans – VF Corp Company (Stock – VFC)

Nabisco – Mondelez Int. formerly Kraft foods (Stock –MDLZ)

Mazda – Mazda Corp. (ADR-MZDAF)

Mattel –Mattel Inc. (Stock-MAT)

Archer Farms – Target Brand Subsidiary

Vanguard – Mutual Fund Powerhouse

Mr. Coffee-  Jarden Consumer Solutions (Stock – JAH)

Brands that I Love – Series III

I wanted to keep this series going and let all my readers know what are the brands that I love? How would this help any of you? Maybe you can support them if a credible source recommends them and by word of mouth they are known as providers of quality products and or services. This is the third post on this topic and I am not going to repeat the  brands that I love, but if a brand does a turn for the worse, then I shall put them in the brands that I hate list. In this life you can not hold on to old emotions or favoritism if a brand is no longer servicing your needs. See below for the brands that I love list:

10 Companies that might go bankrupt in 2013

In this Daily Finance Article the writer after many hours of research done on all of these companies has determined that all or most of them will be going under in the foreseeable future. Some of them are newcomers to the scene and some have been in business for decades but the sentiment and emotions are the same for all. What is it you ask? Nobody or at least very few people want to be their customers. That is by all means the only reason that a company is established. A company can have a year or two of operational cashflow reserves, but after that point then chapter 11 or 7 follows.

Daily Finance Bankruptcy List:

-AVON
-Metro PCS
-Oakland Raiders might become LA Raiders
-Salon Website
-Suzuki Motor Co.
-Pacific Sun Website
-RIM aka Blackberry
-Current TV Channel
-Talbots Retail Stores
-American Airlines
-JC Penny

All of these might go under and I would not invest in any of these right now. In addition to the list provided by daily finance I will make a prediction that in 3 years a few companies I will mention below will also go under. The list below is my guess by seeing a shift in consumer spending, agressive competition and just my own feelings based on the brands current marketing failures. All of the predictions above and below are based only in the U.S. consumer market space.

My Bankruptcy prediction of Companies:

-Best Buy
-Sprint
-Mitsubishi Motors
-Panasonic
-Nokia
-Sears
-A&P Supermarkets

Well their you have it, how do you feel both lists compare and do you support any of these companies, let us know. Also comment if you agree or disagree with both lists. In any event it is just to risky to buy any stocks or bonds from these companies in the future. If things turn around for them I will be the first to admit I was wrong but do not bet on me as my track record has been pretty good in predicitng companies from going under. Also Check out the bankruptcy rate in the U.S. from 2006 to 2008 how suprised are you now that you see the numbers of people applying. I think it is sad and unfortunate. So many problems arise from bankruptcy that you do not need the headache, unless it is a last resort and only option.

Brands that I Love

OK I did a post about brands that I hate and what better way to reciprocate that than to post about the brands that I love. I know that this post will get a lot of people to comment back. Something about brand loyalty that gets people to talk and talk and talk. For this reason alone I will start a series of posts based on brand loyalty and update my brands with every new post. I even found an article on this robust topic listed in Daily Finance website. I was shocked and surprised to see what was the #1 brand on the list in the Daily finance article. Before clicking the website I mentioned above take a guess at who will be the victor on that list. My list below is a mixed list of random companies that were in my mind at the time and I will look to add to this list in the future.

Brands that I Hate

I usually start a post with some investing idea I have or debt repayment idea, but this post is completely different. In my experience with all the brand name products that I come in contact with some have been positive and others have been downright negative. So why am I rambling about negative brands and not talking about something more positive and with less intensity of hate? Because it will help all of us decide in the future if a particular brand is worth spending money on. I do not know about you, but I hate to throw good money into a garbage product. Yeah you can call it being very extreme or stubborn, but at least I am making smart decisions based on experience with my money and I can only speak for myself.
Because I have been scorn a few times by these terrible brands, I made a very helpful list to remind me of their filth in the future. Granted you might not agree with me and it is up to you to voice your opinion here in this forum.  All I ask is for all of you to respect my decision in this hate post and debate if you must in a respectful manner. If I can save somebody a few hundred dollars by avoiding a certain brand that is a win situation for that person. On the flip side of the coin if more people voiced out their opinions on these shady companies then people will not make the same mistake other folks previously made. Also these companies now a day get away with everything, and only a few older opinionated people who actually take the time to write a letter to companies’ complaints department are the ones getting results. The complaint is based on the principle behind companies actually giving consumers what we pay for, products with value.
Brands that are on my hate list:
Nun Bush (Shoes)
Fuji (Camcorder)
Canon (Camcorder- SLR’s are Ok)
Fossil Watches
Volkswagen (Jetta)
Bose CD Players (Speakers are OK)
Seiko Kinetic (Watches)
Panasonic (Home Phones-TV’s are OK)
For each and every one of these brands I had to endure subpar products and bad service by mostly all the companies. The car brand mentioned in the list was constantly in the shop and that is just unacceptable for a brand new car to constantly have a check engine light on and almost every service call was about 300+ dollars. A new car should last you a good 3 or so years without any issues in my opinion. The Seiko watch actually lasted a good amount of time without any issues, but the premise behind the movement as per the marketing department is that the watch should continue to work for 99 plus years as long as I wear the watch. It is powered by the movement of my body aka no battery. Why advertise this, if after a few years it turns out to be far from the truth. As far as Canon goes I only had issues with the camcorder side of the business, but the digital SLR cameras I hear are really good products.
I will stay true in my stance to never buy any of these product brands again in my entire life. Just not worth it for me to invest any more time and resources on them.
OK so in conclusion please comment if you want to add a product name to the brand list or if you ever had a bad experience with any of the brand names mentioned above. Word of mouth is a powerful tool we can all use effectively to actually make change in our consumer society.
Being fully aware of the brands that do not hold up to their promise is another way to watch your money.
