How Candy Crush makes you poor
Can this game make you Poor?

Hey Friends, did you know that Candy Crush is Taking over people’s minds every day by the minute? That little app has blown up to the tune of millions and millions of users, happily plugging in hours a week playing a useless game. I will show you in the post below how Candy Crush makes you poor in various ways. This game can not only drain you fiscally, but can damage you to the point you feel poorish in other areas of your life.

Granted this game craze is not a new phenomenon, do you remember the Tetris and Bejeweled addiction? Well Candy Crush is along the same line and premise behind those two games. Here is the difference that all of you will be stunned to know, Candy Crush executives are raking in 690,000 thousand dollars a day from its users. Say What! Tetris and Bejeweled never made that kind of money; boy technology has benefitted the app developers hasn’t it. It boggles me to wonder how much time is being wasted in the millions of households playing this game.

How Candy Crush makes you Poor:

-The time wasted playing the game could have been used to make money

-The dollar you are spending every time you need a new life

-The drain on your devices that need to be recharged costs money

-The time wasted away from meaningful relationship building while you are playing this game

-The chores in the house take a step back for the game

-The time spent could have been better allocated towards becoming Healthier

-The time wasted on the game should have been spent trying to allocate and diversify finances

-The time dedicated to the game which can never be returned (Time costs money)

These are the reasons how Candy Crush makes you poor. I hope you can see that games such as this one, will never really help you improve unless you need some highly advance cognitive training (which I doubt they provide). I will admit I have never played the game, but I have played Tetris in the past. I did some research and asked around to see if anybody has benefitted from playing Candy Crush. They all said no, that it basically is a pass time activity. If you want to pass the time, can you do it the old fashioned way and read a book, write in a journal, or work. If you add up the time spent on Candy Crush, Instagram, Facebook, and TV. When is there time to allocate towards building wealth or learning new skills?

Candy Crush Stats:

Daily Users – 9.7 Million

Total Users – Over 500 million

Daily Revenue generated by the players of the game worldwide – 633K

Total games played – Over 150 billion and growing

Recent Survey done by Ask Your Target Market about Candy Crush Saga in collaboration with Time Magazine. That survey found that 67% of players have allowed their lives to be impacted by the game in some way, such as getting distracted from completing other household needs, playing during work hours, or arguing with others because of how often they play.(Wives and Husbands are affected by this crazy addiction) I’m positive that anybody who is playing this horrid game, can find something more productive to do than to waste it on crushing freaking candies.

PS: In this life people tend to abuse the mind by not learning enough, they abuse their body by not running enough when young, and abuse their money by not growing it enough. (Don’t be one of these people playing Candy Crush when you can be learning, running, or growing)

    1. Yeah I get one at least once a day, makes me want to close out FB. But I need it to stay in touch with international family and friends. Its sad when you get together with others and they are so addicted that they cant talk with you because they need to reach a new level.

  1. haha, I just heard about this game over Thanksgiving. Your comments remind me of when I was in high school and I had my TI-85 graphing calculator. A friend gave me the code for a tetris game and for the next month I played it way too often! On the bus, sometimes at lunch, during passing periods. I ended up deleting it from my calculator because I didn't like what I was doing with my time when I had it available.

A nice reminder of that experience in the era of smart phones…

  2. Yes Tetris was the classic game that laid the foundation for all these games. I am not knocking kids from playing video games, but some of the requests I get daily are from people in their mid 30's playing these FB games for 4 hours a day. Its pretty tragic if you ask me. Thanks for the comment.

  3. I have a couple of game addictions (I love Bejeweled), but I never, ever pay to play. And if the app is asking me to upgrade or preventing me from playing because I need to purchase credits all the time, I delete it immediately. No thanks. Not wasting my money on that crap.

  4. Holy cow! I cannot wrap my mind around people wasting time playing useless games like this. Whenever I get invites on FB from someone I just feel embarrassed for them. Now all their friends know they are wasting away their lives (and money) playing ridiculous games.
